Continued in Part 2.

Back in Democrat world, it was inevitable that we’d litigate at some point why Kamala Harris never appeared on Joe Rogan. That moment came today, when campaign adviser Jennifer Palmieri cited junior staffer pushback as the deciding factor against Harris going on the podcast.

Meanwhile, the New York Times published its final check-in with its infamous panel of undecided factors, and the fact that several cited Joe Rogan as a deciding factor fueled the frustration.

“I voted Trump. I made the decision after he appeared on Joe Rogan. He just seemed more normal than the other side.”

“The Joe Rogan interview was huge for me. Trump enthusiastically said yes to a three-hour, open, honest conversation with Joe Rogan, who was a former Bernie bro. I think it’s very telling about which candidate is authentic and which candidate is not.”

“I think that Donald Trump or JD Vance should go on “Joe Rogan” regularly. That would be a cool way to check in and give a progress update.”

But, also, maybe take this claim with a grain of salt?

Gonna simply refrain from any editorial comment here other than to say I have complained about going too long without a viral cultural essay to get people up in arms, and this ever so slightly feels like wishing on a monkey’s paw.

In I guess wholesome news, I’m not entirely sure when Mark Zuckerberg became such a wife guy but I don’t hate it.

Now for the recurring “For the Girls and the Gays” segment of this newsletter:

This past Tuesday, another closely watched vote went awry.

It’s not totally clear to me when or why the internet turned against John Krasinski, but it has something to do with him selling off his feel-good YouTube COVID series “Some Good News” for an undisclosed but sizable amount of money, only for nothing to come of it. Or maybe it’s the transition from Jim Halpert to Jack Ryan. Honestly, it’s easy to lose track of why we do or don’t like somebody after a few years.

Anyhow, things are mostly bad and will stay bad but welcome to the Senate Ruben Gallego.
