I know everybody is here for debate content and we’ll get to that in a second, but the funniest moment yesterday actually came before the debate, via President Joe Biden:
The first and likely only debate between VP Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump kicked off with the standard “are you better off now than four years ago question. Right out the gate, Trump cited what is now a hallmark of his stump speech: a conflation of political asylum and insane asylums.
Then onto the segment on reproductive rights, where things so quickly went off the rails that Kamala hit him with the first of many such looks throughout the night:
With the debate taking place in Pennsylvania, there was the inevitable question on fracking, particularly as Kamala Harris came out against fracking in her 2019 run for president.
We then moved onto what on paper is probably Trump’s strongest issue: immigration and the Southern border.
TOTI readers may have been able to guess where this was all headed with just a littttle bit of baiting on Kamala’s part.
