I will admit that from the very start I was a bit bearish on the “weird” line of attack from the Democrats. I thought it might come across as a big smug or bullying, as unfair as that might seem given the folks on the receiving end. But, I gotta say, I have never cared about anything in my whole entire life as JD Vance cares about women having or not having children. Get help, man.
One thing the internet is going to do is not get nostalgic about President George W. Bush.
I will do my best to provide an oral history of sorts of the Chase Bank glitch viral trend.
On Saturday, TikTok users reported a supposed loophole in JP Morgan Chase ATMs, in which one could write themselves a ginormous check, deposit it via mobile deposit, and withdraw the cash before the bank could process the check.
According to later videos, the perpetrators of this scheme then allegedly discovered massive negative balances in their accounts.
It seems very likely that the original posts were clickbaity troll videos anyways, using prop money and old screenshots:
Real or fake (almost certainly fake), there are now poorly sourced news articles and hundreds of videos on TikTok of people supposedly trying to take advantage of this glitch.
So who knows how real any of this ever was, but at least (mostly) everybody gets to feel smug. Everybody wins, or nobody wins. The icebergs are melting.
Stars: they’re just like us.
Why are we not all watching the Paralympics?
Remember the Davis-Woodhalls, the golden couple from the Olympics?
They’re back!
Flavor Flav remains as engaged as ever:
Here’s something I can’t fully explain but would like to learn more about: a huge percent of “stan Twitter” – mostly celebrity update accounts – hail from Brazil. The girls and gays down there love their pop culture!
So when Brazilian Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes suspended Twitter/X due to the company’s failure to appoint a local representative to help identify and ban disinformation accounts, a small but very, very powerful part of Twitter disappeared overnight. A true country of posters.
Like why does Dianna Agron from Glee even have an update account
I’ll close with a The New Yorker piece on AI that’s making the rounds.
(I admittedly haven’t read it yet but I’m off to do that now. ✌️)
