Since TOTI did not cover the final night of the convention, a quick recap of the surprise that wasn’t, ie the unannounced guest that never materialized.
Mid-day Thursday, an anonymous political account with 600K followers tweeted:

“A bigger deal than Oprah” narrows it to about to people, so naturally people honed in first on Taylor Swift, who had just finished the European leg of the Eras Tour and had flown into Nashville earlier that week.
But the White House Political Director tweeting out the bee emoji seemed to confirm it was in fact Beyoncé, whose song Freedom is serving as Kamala Harris’ campaign song.
Later that afternoon, TMZ actually went on to confirm her appearance:
As the night progressed, though, we had a series of bumpable speakers who weren’t getting bumped…
As Kamala took the stage, it was clear we had all been had.
Every politician has awkward moments on the campaign trail, but rarely do you see such an intersection of bad campaigner and bad campaign advance work:
By all accounts the campaign’s strategy is to have him camp out in Pennsylvania through Election Day… we’ll see if the risk pays off!
Whereas JD pretty much does Kamala’s team’s work for them, you can feel Republicans breaking their brains trying to go after Tim Walz:
Last Friday, RFK Jr. dropped out of the race and formally endorsed Donald Trump. And lest you’re inclined to feel sympathetic to his wife Cheryl Hines (introduced to RFK by Larry David!), keep in mind she’s stood by him this whole time.
Well, turns out we have not just another incomprehensible and disturbing RFK story but also a merger with one of the biggest stories in celebrity culture right now:
Why are we hearing from Kick (??) Kennedy? Well:
The Ben/JLo divorce is getting messy! Watch this space.
In more wholesome celebrity romance news!
Flashback to January:
tbh all celebrity news and all news in general would be better if Carrie Fisher were still alive. RIP to the realest one.
Closing this out with a new Tier 1 Kamala clip that just dropped:
@RNCResearch, do your thing!
