Night 3. Let’s go.
Mindy Kaling – self-proclaimed “Gen Z actress”- hosted night three in support of fellow Indian-American Kamala Harris.
Last week my family asked me to name a celebrity dinner guest who rates as an 8 on a scale from 1 to 10. My brain, frozen in 2010s amber that it is, randomly came up with Mindy Kaling. They all felt that was too high but, you know what? I feel vindicated. That’s my girl.
My 10 out of 10 (11 out of 10) guest, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, was in attendance to host a panel featuring the eight Democratic women governors.
Fellow star of the 1990s President Bill Clinton delivered a speech that apparently he’s still workshopping.
Speaker Emirata – an honorific coined and voted on specifically for her – Nancy Pelosi delivered brief remarks in which she did not reference her well documented status as architect of this entire nomination.
VP-also-ran Governor Josh Shapiro reminded viewers that if he’s going to really commit to this style of speaking, he needs to let the Obama era fade from memory a bit longer before he mounts a run for president.
Up-and-coming TV personality Oprah Winfrey spoke, and I think she might have a future in this industry.
Millennial-in-chief Secretary Mayor Pete was up next.
Veterans of the 2020 Democratic primary trenches remember:
He did fine. Just like Nancy is better behind closed doors, Pete’s true calling is calmly and methodically eviscerating whichever host Fox News volunteers as tribute that day.
